Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Position is located with PINECREST SUPPORTS & SERVICES CENTER.
Location: Health Services
Shift: 8am - 4:30pm Pass Days: Saturday and Sunday
This position may receive additional pay including but not limited to shift differential and premium pay.
No Civil Service test scoreis required in order to be considered for this vacancy.

Minimum Qualifications
Possession of an active, unencumbered, unrestricted and valid Louisiana registered nurse license to practice professional nursing or a multi-state license issued by a nursing License Compact (NLC/eNLC) state plus and active, Valid Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license or temporary permit.
The temporary APRN permit allows an APRN applicant to work in a limited capacity for up to 120 days while awaiting review for full APRN licensure by the nursing board. An APRN applicant cannot medically diagnose or medically manage patients until they are licensed and have prescriptive authority. If the APRN license is not received within the 120 day period and the permit expires, the employee must be removed from the position.
NOTE:
Certification will be verified by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing prior to granting licensure.
Job Concepts
To provide psychiatric behavioral health services and primary behavioral health care and treatment of co-occurring psychiatric disorders and intellectual disabilities.
Examples of Work
Examine, diagnose, and treat behavioral health problems of individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental and/or emotional disorders.
Performs psychiatric evaluations on new and existing residents, prescribes evidence based treatment and/or medications.
Coordinates care of residents with assigned Psychiatrist and medical providers, responds to acute crises, reviews medical and behavioral history, orders and previews necessary diagnostic testing
