Mechanical Engineer
The Mechanical Engineer performs various professional level duties, ranging from simple to moderate complexity within varied engineering and scientific activities associated with company products related to systems and component design, development, and test programs, including hardware and software applications.
- Applies engineering and scientific principles to technical tasks in such technical fields as mechanics, electronics, flight technology, structures, chemistry, metallurgy, mathematics, and computer science.
- May conduct or participate in portions of studies, investigations or analyses involving reliability, predictability, value engineering; or quality assurance problems including hardware and software projects
- Gathers, correlates, and analyzes technical information necessary to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Prepares reports, charts, graphs, and other related documents
- Documentation of existing and proposed processes
- Providing Support to mechanical design or support activities with entry level knowledge skills:
- Work activity closely monitored and supervised

- Applied skills and activities include:
- Mechanical engineering design activities
- Learn and use development tools (eg, Solid works, PDM, ANSYS tools)
- Development or modification of mechanical drawings and revisions
- Use of design and configuration management tools and techniques
- Supporting analysis of mechanical designs including thermal, structural, finite element analysis, size and weight, vibration and modal analysis, tolerances, and manufacturability
- Task planning activities
- Develop production tooling
- Support and resolution of manufacturing issues
- Visit with vendors as required
Critical Competencies
- Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, across functional areas
- Quantitative analysis skills using Excel and other software tools
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
- Drives for results to establish Root Cause & Positive Corrective Actions
- Continuously strives to improve processes & techniques
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required
- Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment preferred (0-3 years)
- Must be able to work on-site daily
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US, visa sponsorship not available
- Must be able to work on U.S. government programs and/or obtain security clearance
