What’s the Job?

Due to an internal promotion, our CertainTeed Granule Plant is looking for a Production Supervisor to oversee all shift production activities on the plant’s production line.

As an effective Production Supervisor, you are dedicated to providing leadership and direction for the activities of the production line personnel to efficiently produce quality products. Not only would you be an expert in production, but monitor environmental, health, & safety requirements. You will use this expertise to be accountable to make sure all production is in compliance with these requirements and other policies and procedures to ensure product meets or exceeds standards.

  • Directly supervises the hourly production employees on the safe and efficient operation of the production line(s), assesses employee performance while providing coaching and development opportunities, and administers disciplinary action if needed.

  • Monitors the production processes and production quality to ensure compliance to established company standards while also adhering to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilities.

  • Supporting the Maintenance and Engineering activities within the facility

  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and report all EH&S incidents and participate in Incident and Near Miss investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.

  • Conduct weekly SMAT audits

Shift Information: This is a night shift position working a 12-hour rotating schedule from 6PM to 6AM, four days on and four days off. Some weekend work is required as part of this work schedule.

What do you bring?

  • 5 or more years of experiencing building and leading teams with a track record of success, along with the ability to develop and implement action plans.

  • High level of knowledge and understanding of computer systems and programs, especially proficient in Microsoft Office applications, e-mail, Internet access navigation, and SAP.

  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems is a plus.

  • Ability to lead small to medium sized cross-functional teams under high-pressure environments.

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools such as Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and Six Sigma.

  • Willing and able to work the night shift schedule as noted above in the job posting.
