The Plant Accountant role is based in Picton, ON and reports directly to the Sr. Plant Manager. Picton is located in Prince Edward County, an island in Lake Ontario where you come to fall in love with food, drink, nature, art, and community all over again.

What you’ll get to do

  • Perform general accounting functions which include general ledger, fixed assets, inventory, and cost accounting.

  • Prepare monthly close and inventory reconciliations.

  • Generate and convey reports and data detailing financial results and operational technical performance.

  • Ensure capital investments are aligned with corporate accounting guidelines.

  • Analyze and document support to general ledger accounts.

  • Conduct monthly cost review meetings with plant departments.

  • Analyze and coordinate activities with departments to manage fixed and variable costs.

  • Prepare annual operating financial plan and forecasts.

  • Support in preparation of daily reports.

  • Support environmental department in regular CO2 accounting.

  • Support annual finance audits.

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent

  • CPA certification preferred;

  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience;

  • Proven experience performing cost/benefit analysis for capital expenditures, month-end processing, forecasting, budgeting, and physical inventory;

  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • SAP

  • Manufacturing or similar industry
