Summary The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Armaments Center (AC) serves as the Army's technology leader for armament systems. DEVCOM AC ensures dominance of Army capabilities by researching, developing, integrating and delivering technology-enabled armament solutions to our Warfighters. Armaments Center has a long tradition as the primary research and development center for new and existing armament systems which are in use by U.S. service members around the world. Responsibilities Direct all acquisition and funding activities for a program. Utilize contracting and procurement knowledge to meet mission needs. Develop solutions to broad management/ business problems in which previously established techniques are inadequate. Make recommendations concerning procurement in accordance with organizational goals. Communicate with entities, such as representatives of other functional areas, managers, and representatives of other/higher command, industry and academia, concerning acquisition management and project procurement management matters. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Experience proposing various contract methods for the acquisition of major weapon systems/programs 2) Experience managing a contract across the acquisition life cycle. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DE-02/ GS-05-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Acquisition Strategy Contracting/Procurement Oral Communication Organizational Awareness Problem Solving Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Three year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter. This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Foundational Certification for Contracting within 36 months as of entrance on duty. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
