Job Description

Turner & Townsend are seeking a Senior Master Scheduler to join our Project Controls team and provide support for our client’s large-scale mining program.

*Remote Position with occasional travel to site (10-25% a month travel ideally)

Depending on the development phase of the projects within exploration mining program, accountabilities can be summarized as delivery and support of the following activities:

  • Develop and maintain plans and schedules that support and align with mining exploration requirements, working in conjunction with senior planner, project managers, project directors, program managers, VP's and other key stakeholders.

  • Utilize the standardized processes, systems and tools in developing and maintaining project schedules.

  • Evaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas.

  • Analyze critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule.

  • Conduct schedule analysis to determine alternative courses of action on slipped schedules.

  • Support the development of monthly reports and look-ahead schedule as required.

  • Participates and/or conduct project schedule review meetings and update schedules.

  • Assist with review and validation of schedules prepared by schedulers, contractors, and technical disciplines internal and external to the client organization.

  • Work with engineering companies and contractors to monitor and report on progress for key deliverables.

  • Maintain an accurate work program through close liaison with project managers and key stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Engineering / Construction Management Degree and/or Certification or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 10 years general planning and scheduling experience required, as well as 4 years Mining / Petrochem / Oil & Gas specific experience in planning and scheduling experience across all project phases.

  • Proficiency with Primavera (P6), MS Projects, and Acumen Fuse and at least a working knowledge of other scheduling tools.

  • Computer literacy in Microsoft applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Proven track record of coordinating and working with multi-disciplinary / diverse teams.

  • Candidate must possess a high degree of multi-cultural acumen, understanding and sensitivity while working with teams.

  • Good research and analytical skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent communication and organization skills.

  • Trained and experienced in project management and project controls.

  • Cost control and general project controls experience preferred.

  • Preference will be given to self-starters who can demonstrate excellent multi-disciplinary project knowledge.
