GHD is currently seeking a Project Civil Engineer - Highways and Roads, to join our Transportation team! We have exciting transportation and related infrastructure projects underway across the West and are looking for Civil Engineers to join our dynamic team. This position will be based in Phoenix, AZ.

Working with our Engineering Design Organization, this position offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse projects, collaborate with talented professionals, and make a significant impact within our organization and the communities we serve. Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Assistance in the preparation of CAD drawings / construction documents / specifications
• Preparing design concept drawings and ideas for discussion and conceptual development
• Preparing detailed drawings that require a degree of technical design applying knowledge of relevant design principles
• Preparing calculations for quantities and costing of projects
• Receiving training in different phases of office and field work including design, drawings, construction review, site surveys, studies, and assist in the preparation of fee proposals, memoranda, letters and reports.
• Coordinating with other subject areas including architectural, survey, traffic, and structural
• Communicating with partner firms and clients on details (mostly internal)
• Recommending improvements and innovations
• Ensuring timely production of deliverables
• Carrying out quality checks and procedures

What you will bring to the team:

• Strong foundation and proficiency across multiple software design platforms - experience with both AutoCAD and Civil 3D required, and Microstation highly desired.
• Experience with municipal infrastructure, highways, roadways, trails, drainage, & site development projects. Previous experience with Arizona DOT and/or Caltrans highly regarded.
• A self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teammate, with the ability to work independently when required, collaborative in open sharing of information and knowledge with team.
• Good time management ability, ability to handle conflicting priorities and work in a dynamic environment.
• Attention to detail and ability to complete diverse assignments - using strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

• FE/EIT required; PE preferable; California PE highly esirable.

• 3-5 years of experience with solid technical knowledge and skills across the transportation & municipal engineering, including a strong background in planning & design; construction experience a plus.
