Description

We are seeking a Project Controls Manager who will lead the regions project control team and initiatives. Position will be responsible for supporting small, medium and large scale projects and drive standardization across its business units. Position will require participation in all phases of the project life cycle including Proposal Development Stage, Front End Development, Constructability, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning. Make independent evaluations of project status based on interpretation of reports using both own experience and that of assigned project team. This is a hybrid role (remote for the right fit) preferably based in Phoenix (AZ), Denver (CO) or Salt Lake City (UT).

Salary range for this position is $100k-$130k (increase negotiable based on experience) with bonus opportunity. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide support to Vice President, Area/Branch Managers and Field Project Managers in planning, managing, and monitoring major projects.

• Evaluate and monitor the performance and efficiency of a portfolio of jobs in assigned Area and facilitate and lead efforts to drive site productivity at various sites leveraging local teams, company tools, and personal knowledge.

• Coordinates preparation internal and external reports through gathering, analyzing and summarizing data and information.

• Work on overall project planning through reporting on project schedules and deliverable.

• Participate on a global Project Controls team to drive company-wide systemic changes

• Lead cross-functional SWAT Teams for proper setup at new jobs sites in the region

• Will support local team and report to Global Project Controls Team

• Keep track of active program budgets and ensuring that program expenses are strictly monitored monthly and that monthly expenses are on target.

• Continually defines ways to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.

• Anticipates client needs before they arise and presents solutions to project management that encompass issues at hand.

• Understands expectations that were set with client and recognizes when issues/events may affect delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or another technical field from an accredited university

• 5+ years Project Controls Manager experience in Construction, preferably industrial projects (such as petrochemical, refinery, power, offshore platforms).

• Experience should include understanding contracts, standard commercial T&C’s, contract compliance, invoice auditing, and proposal experience considered a major plus.

• Desired experience also includes time spent ‘in the field’ on job-sites, with an understanding of productivity drivers

• Requires in depth working knowledge of cost control, scheduling techniques, estimating, change management, risk management, and progress reporting methods.

• Demonstrated analytic proficiency

• Superior problem solving ability

• Ability to analyze qualitative data; should be capable of ‘boiling down’ large amounts of data into relevant / actionable information

• Exceptional analytical, statistical, quantitative, and deduction skills

• Familiarity with Six Sigma / LEAN / Workface Planning

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

• Working knowledge in using Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint. MS Access desired.

• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
