Honeywell Principal Project Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona

The Honeywell Aerospace Technologies propulsion project engineering team has an immediate opening for a Principal Project Engineer on the HTF Growth team to lead technical definition of a new centerline turbofan engine. You will work with a diverse and highly cross-functional team drive system level trade studies to improve product performance. You will lead definition the product configuration and assist the product chief engineers in providing technical direction and decomposing requirements to the systems and component teams. You will support customer pursuits, competitive assessments and strategic roadmap development for the commercial turbofan business.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

  • 15+ years’ engineering experience in design, development, test and/or certification of gas turbine engines, engine control systems or other aerospace systems

  • Demonstrated experience in engine performance and product definition

  • Strong technical experience in propulsion systems and gas turbine engines

  • Superior interpersonal and communications skills; ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience.

  • Experience managing customer or supplier relationships

  • Strong organizational skills, and demonstrated persistence in following actions to closure.

  • Good working knowledge of Part 33 and Part 25 certification, including ability to work with the ODA and Chiefs to define certification impacts and leading efforts to produce necessary certification documents.

  • Strong project management skills, including experience in budget and schedule management, risk management and earned value management.

  • A demonstrated passion for winning and the ability to act with urgency

  • The ability to prioritize time and resources effectively

  • Tolerance of ambiguity, and the ability to set direction in a dynamic environment
