GE Healthcare Materials Specialist - Buyer/Planner in Phoenix, Arizona

Job Description Summary

Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and also within departments) according to production schedules. Plan and schedule material needs. Accountable for the quality of own work. Contributes to projects and initiatives, influences at the site level and determines and executes to operational standards and processes, and requires understanding of a concepts, methods and procedures. Work to resolve Materials issues while achieving & maintaining inventory business & metrics.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage material planning, processes and systems. Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs. Optimize inventory and process improvements.

  • Coordinates with suppliers to assure site requirements are achieved.

  • Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.

  • Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.

  • Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.

  • Collaborates with others to solve issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university preferred

  • Minimum 2 years experience planning in manufacturing environment

  • Computer proficiency

  • Working knowledge of MRP

  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work independently
