The Eligibility Specialist screens and assists with the application process for Mountain Park Health Center (MPHC) discount program and other medical assistance programs available. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Creates and completes accurate applications for medical assistance programs offered by MPHC. All support documentation and signatures are included with the application, as required. Income and other required information is correctly transferred into the Practice Management System and appropriate discount plan is given to all eligible patients. Meets productivity requirements and works with team members to assure efficient use of time and service to the patients. Provides excellent customer service at all times in a culturally sensitive way. Has a good understanding of the rules and regulations regarding medical assistance programs offered by the organization and promptly applies all changes, as instructed by the department manager. Participates in trainings offered by the department manager, or the health center, as approved. Produces accurate work and passes audits according to expectations by management. Possesses the ability and willingness to learn about and execute implementation of new medical assistance programs. Must be able to embrace differences among people and able to interact with internal staff as well as external contacts in a culturally competent and respectful manner.
