U-Haul Accounting Intern in Phoenix, Arizona

2727 N Central Ave, Phoenix, Arizona 85004 United States of America

Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Intern will handle a variety of Accounting duties that are both educational and real business experience.

The Intern will have an opportunity to learn about and work hands-on with, but not limited to:

  • Assist cost/profit centers in analyzing budget variances and year-to-year fluctuations.

  • Analyze total company consolidated general and administrative expenses.

  • Facilitate the preparation, delivery, and feedback of monthly departmental expense reporting.

  • Prepare various ledger account reconciliations on a monthly basis.

  • Create journal entries to record monthly activity/corrections for entry to the general ledger.

  • Research and understand significant accounting events by inquiring to essential personnel and/or reviewing source documents.

  • Prepare fixed asset reconciliation along with depreciation entries.

  • Assist in designing and implementing new programs and procedures to improve accounting accuracy and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • MUST be enrolled student of Bachelor's level accredited college or university, in related degree focus of Accounting or Finance

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Must be tech savvy with Microsoft Excel
