Actalent Mechanical Estimator And Project Manager in Philomath, Oregon

Job Title: Mechanical Estimator and Project Manager

Job Description: The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost of mechanical components, machines, and labor based on provided drawings from customers or the internal mechanical team. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, organizational skills, and the ability to influence and support sales efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and interpret sets of drawings for mechanical components and systems.

  • Price mechanical components and systems based on provided drawings.

  • Estimate labor required for the installation and assembly of mechanical components.

  • Organize estimates in a comprehensive spreadsheet for team review.

  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate and timely estimates.

  • Support long-term sales efforts by combining estimating skills with selling and influencing capabilities.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience in mechanical estimating or a related field within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical components, systems, and labor estimation.

  • Proficiency in using spreadsheet software for organizing and presenting estimates.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to influence and support sales efforts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in the manufacturing or tool industry.

  • Familiarity with CAD software and mechanical drawings.

  • Previous experience in a sales or customer-facing role.

Work Environment:

  • The candidate will have an office/workspace but may need to work on the shop floor when customers are onsite.

  • Enjoy 2 weeks of PTO and 8 holidays.
