If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position. Researches a variety of sources, analyzes, and initiates actions on tax issues obtaining applicable returns, schedules, and all required information for correction of accounts and records; verifies, analyzes and adjusts taxpayer accounts. Secures payment of delinquent taxes and filing of delinquent returns. Determines financial, levy source, adjustment and uncollectible information; advises taxpayers of appeal procedures. May serve as a technical advisor, OJT coach, classroom instructor, or reviewer, and provide technical assistance on systemic problems and inconsistencies in IRMs. Requirements Conditions of Employment To ensure compliance with an applicable preliminary nationwide injunction, which may be supplemented, modified, or vacated, depending on the course of ongoing litigation, the Federal Government will take no action to implement/enforce the COVID-19 vaccination requirement pursuant to Executive Order 14043 on Requiring Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination for Federal Employees. Must successfully complete a background investigation, including a FBI criminal history record check (fingerprint check). Qualifications Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis. You must meet the following requirements by the time of referral: GS-04 GENERAL EXPERIENCE : You must have 1 year of general experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-03 grade level in the Federal service. General experience for this position includes progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular competencies needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. This may be paid or non-paid experience. OR EDUCATION: You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Two (2) years of education above the high school level in an accredited junior college, college, university, business, secretarial or technical school. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions. GS-05 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes experience that is in or related to this position and provided you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Examples of qualifying experience include experience performing a variety of miscellaneous tasks involving researching and processing financial documents, reviewing information, and determining corrective action on accounts, researching for missing/unclear accounting information, and reviewing financial documents submitted for completeness. OR EDUCATION: You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: four (4) years of education above high school in any field of study from an accredited college or university. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions. Tour of Duty: Swing Shift 35 positions in Philadelphia, PA from 4:30 PM-1:00 AM Season is 4-6 months and can be extended. Alternative work schedule, staggered work hours or telework may be available but must meet eligibility requirements. While this job is telework eligible, you will be required to report to your assigned post of duty (POD) at least two (2) days per pay period during normal operations. If you are in a telework eligible position, you may be directed to temporarily telework on a full-time basis due to COVID 19 or other reasons. Employees are required to be within a 200-mile radius of their assigned POD while in a telework status. Telework eligibility does not guarantee telework; employees must meet and sustain IRS telework eligibility requirements and supervisor's approval to participate in the IRS Telework Program.
