Noblis Submarine Towed Buoy System Engineer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Responsibilities
Noblis MSD is seeking an Engineering candidate with advanced experience in Mechanical Engineering systems as related to submarine sail systems in the following areas:
Submarine Systems in the area of design and modifications of experience US Navy HM&E Submarine Communication and Electromagnetic Systems.
This Mechanical Engineering position will supportTowed Communication Buoys for Ohio & Columbia Classes, ISEA engineering support, Obsolesense, Material prototyping & management, configuration changes, documentation and procurements the Modernization Program.Additionally support various hull, mechanical and electrical systems (HM&E), and research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E) programs for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNS) & Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD).
Candidate duties will include the following:
Support the investigation of the viability and operational utility of a retrievable tethered buoy system.This includes supporting the following:
The evaluation and development of system design options,
The review of payloads
The refinement of concepts of operations
The outlining system benefit
The de-risking of critical aspects to inform submarine design, and determining ship fit options.
Support the tasking to define the design trade space analysis covering performance, reliability and vulnerability.
Creating and testing prototypes for functionality
Re-engineering products when problems are found and recalculating for the return of products to full functionality
Preparing reports and documentation for leadership
Perform obsolescence evaluation and assist with finding replacements
Required Qualifications
HS diploma plus 11 years' experience (or AA+8, BS+5, MS+3, Phd+1)
Experience with Submarine Communciation & Electromagnetic Systems (SCEMS) dependent upon degree.Experience with equipment design principles
Familiarity with 2D/3D engineering design & manufacturing tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor)
Experience reviewing models and drawings for manufacturability of parts
Experience with documentation development including drawings, technical manuals (operation, assembly, troubleshooting, and repair), bill of materials
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
Familiarity military specifications for technical design
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Candidate must have active Secret clearance, or be clearable.
Desired Qualifications
Desired Experience:
Experience in Mechanical systems related to Submarine Towed Buoy Systems
Experiecne in engineering, design, fabrication, and testing of prototype equipment
Submarine Sail systems, machinery controls design development and test
Submarine Systems in the area of design and modifications of experience US Navy HM&E Submarine Communication and Electromagnetic Systems
Submarine Systems, including the Ohio Replacement Program, Virginia Class Program,Seawolf Class Program, Columbia Class Program Moored Training Ship (MTS) Program, Multimission Platform Program (MMP), Advanced Seal Delivery System(ASDS), and Joint Multi mission Submersible (JMMS) Program
Experience interfacing directly with US military technical representatives
Experience working with equipment suppliers and vendors
Shipboard experience as an operator / maintainer is a plus
Naval experience in engineering disciplines

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.

USD $81,900.00 - USD $127,950.00 /Yr.
