Overview

The Social Creative Team within our Creative Group produces engaging, impactful, thoughtful, exciting, and elevated content to represent a Fortune 30 brand across various social platforms. The SOCIAL MEDIA DESIGNER in this group should be a highly enthusiastic creative who loves design and finds joy in creating visual solutions. Color, typography, photography, animation, and compositions - you advocate for the power of design. While primarily focused on creating scroll-stopping social graphics, the SOCIAL MEDIA DESIGNER will also have the exciting opportunity to help define the look and feel of a fortune 30 company on social media and work with other teams holistically in a highly collaborative environment.

Requirements

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Create visually compelling social media designs.

  • Quickly ideate and execute a high volume of engaging content across multiple social media platforms, using primarily in-house resources.

  • Support the social creative lead with visual assets and art direction.

  • Using existing creative assets and photography, provide creative solutions and reimagine them for use in a social media context.

  • Attend creative brainstorms, kick-offs, and reviews, contributing meaningful ideas.

  • Collaborate with the rest of the creative team to bring social-first ideas to campaigns and project-related tasks.

  • Help define the social media visual style guide, pushing creative boundaries while maintaining the brand's visual standards.

  • Understand the brand’s goals, strategy, and tone of voice.

  • Follow the direction of creative leadership on best practices, ideating, and execution.

  • Create content that makes measurable and impactful connections with target audiences.

  • Leverage performance metrics and insights provided by the social and analytics team to influence creative ideation and execution.

  • Stay up to date with relevant social media trends to help optimize creative performance.

  • Collaborate with teammates or work solo on rapid-fire requests, tight timelines, and longer-term projects.

  • Contribute to a great work environment that celebrates everyone’s success.

  • Add your skills to the team. Be proactive and share design references and inspiration to raise the quality of the work.

The skills and experience you should have:

  • Experience creating well-crafted visual assets for social media either in house or at an agency.

  • 3-5 years of relevant social media and design experience.

  • Lives and breathes social. Regularly uses social media platforms and is familiar with best practices, formats, and capabilities. Understands the nuances between TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, etc.

  • Excellent knowledge of Figma, Adobe CC, photo retouching, and photo editing.

  • Working knowledge of photography (mobile and DSLR), motion graphics, animation, video editing, 3D, and other skills are a plus.

  • You have a flair for breaking down complex information into simple and engaging graphics.

  • Ability to design across many media, considering best practices and accessibility.

  • A self-starter who can develop designs from ideation to execution.

  • Ability to produce content quickly and extremely detail-oriented.

  • A collaborative attitude, can take feedback, and stay calm under pressure.

  • Cultural savviness. Awareness of cultural moments and trends that help improve the work.
