Under the supervision of attorneys and other professionals, performs a range of legal, compliance and government relations duties. Prepares drafts of legal and other documents and correspondence for attorney review. Performs research. Compiles and summarizes information and documents. Coordinates ediscovery program.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
· Prepares memoranda, presentations and other documents at the direction of an attorney or other professional
· Gathers, triages, and organizes documents and information pursuant to internal investigations, subpoenas, discovery requests, and other external requirements
· Coordinates and tracks the collection of ediscovery materials
· Performs research including record searches, docket searches, and corporate history
· Provides general support to our Global Compliance program, including support of compliance initiatives, trainings and communications
· Helps with corporate law and corporate secretary functions including director and officer replacements and routine subsidiary management
· Provides support to the Government Relations function for internal financial reporting (accruals, invoice approvals, budget forecasts) as well as quarterly federal government lobbying disclosure data compilation (LD-2 report data)
· Maintains budgets, tracks spend vs. budgets, and prepares spend repo
Basic Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree
· Minimum five years’ experience supporting a legal department, law firm, or compliance department
Preferred Qualifications
· Notary Public
· High level of initiative
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Ability to demonstrate good judgment and be proactive
· Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete under time constraints
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data
· Ability to write in a clear and concise manner (including proofreading)
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office
· Must be able to multi-task, be flexible, and be able to prioritize and complete projects effectively and efficiently
