Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, systems & execution minded advocacy professional to join our Headquarters Local Government Affairs team as the Senior Director of Local Government Affairs Strategic Partnerships. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, shaping, and managing partnerships – internal and external – to support local advocacy in the regions covering the 39 states where we operate, as well coordinating the company’s significant corporate hometown presence.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities:
Manage HQ Local Government Affairs internal partnerships, including with Comcast Business, Community Impact, Corporate Communications, Digital Equity departments to support to local government affairs staff in our operations across the 39 states where we operate.
Cultivate strong relationships across corporate headquarters partners departments to ensure alignment on goals, priorities, and resource allocation.
Advocate for field-level insights during corporate decision making.
Streamline the rollout of corporate initiatives to maximize adoption and impact on the field government affairs teams.
Serve as HQ Local Government Affairs representative on Corporate initiatives such as Project Up, RISE, and LiftZones.
Manage HQ Local Government Affairs external partnerships including:
Coordinate the company’s chambers of commerce engagement strategy, including effective company and board member engagement with chambers of commerce.
Provide strategic oversight of company engagement with national local intergovernmental associations, e.g., US Conference of Mayors, National Association of Counties, and the National League of Cities.
In partnership with region government affairs teams, develop and implement engagement strategies for regional intergovernmental associations, including state municipal leagues.
Collaborate with the appropriate business teams and Regional GA teams on local public sector engagement for business development and business growth.
- Utilize various association memberships to support business development opportunities.
Develop strategy for company corporate headquarters presence and manage collaboration among departments and business units.
Serve as the connective tissue between the corporate office and various operating entities in Philadelphia for government affairs and civic engagement activities.
Manage delivering support from an array of Corporate departments for local business priorities.
Qualifications:
10+ Years professional government relations strategy and planning experience, with a track record of managing corporate-field dynamics.
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Experience working in a matrixed and/or complex organization.
Thrives in fast-paced environments with competing priorities.
Combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to project planning and execution.
Proactive communicator who can keep stakeholders informed and aligned.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate and resolve conflicts.
Demonstrated capacity to work in a bipartisan manner.
Excellent writing and presentation skills.
