Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP Senior Desktop Engineer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Reference #: R3059 Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Senior Desktop Engineer. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Desktop Engineering, the Senior Desktop Engineer provides desktop engineering and desktop support for new and existing application packaging and deployments as well as supports the global management of the firm-wide Desktop configuration.

This position will reside in our Philadelphia office with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule.

Responsibilities

Prepares the repackaging and proper deployment of Firm applications.

Provides Level 4 end user support for the configurations and installations of Firm applications.

Creates and maintains system documentation and procedures for desktop applications and solutions.

Architects, designs, modifies, tests and debugs 3rd party and Firm applications.

Architects complex application delivery systems.

Identifies and resolves configuration, installation and application compatibility issues.

Formulates and defines the system scope and objectives for assigned IT projects.

Adheres to defined SLAs for incident, task, request and problem management.

Serves as a service owner of assigned application(s) to proactively monitor and report on trends of the application(s) in both the market place and within the Firm.

Proposes solutions based on current IT trends and directions.

Delivers high quality customer service in a timely fashion.

Works with PMO office on IT projects and provides cost analysis and estimated man hours for engineering related projects.

Provides a cost analysis for new applications.

Determines requirements and impact of new applications and upgrades to existing software and hardware systems.

Recommends effective solutions and monitors the implementation of the solutions for quality and stability.

Mentors and provides leadership to others on the Desktop Engineering Team and project teams.

Performs other related responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.

A minimum 7 years of experience in managing Windows desktop systems including, a minimum of 5 years experience deploying software in a corporate environment and 5 years experience with virtual desktop technologies (application, OS etc.).

Proven understanding of the application lifecycle process including requirements gathering, analysis and design.

Familiarity with a virtual desktop environment like Citrix.

Familiarity with OS deployment lifecycle.

Proven understanding of operating systems, desktop and notebook computer hardware and concepts.

Proven understanding of Scripting, Automation and Monitoring technologies.

Understanding of systems and lifecycle management.

Strong skills in troubleshooting and resolving issues with the Windows operating system and application software.

Ability to work effectively in a team.

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Ability to work in a constantly changing environment.

Strong time management skills including multitasking and prioritizing.

Interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Customer service skills.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and professional publications, prepare business correspondence, proposals and reports, effectively present information to groups of employees, and respond to questions from employees, managers, clients and vendors.

Advanced arithmetic skills (compute rate, ratio, percent; able to draw and interpret graphs and charts).

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions.

Technical skills including: Operating Systems: Windows (all versions), Linux, Macintosh OS Desktop Management: Microsoft Systems Center Configurat on Manager (SCCM), Intune MDM,Intune device and user policies, Intune Application Deployment, Powershell, Power Automate,Active Directory, Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure AD), Microsoft Entra hybrid joined devices, OneDrive for Business, Windows Hello for Business Document Management: MS-Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe Reader, Acrobat Writer, Visio Communications: Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Microsoft Exchange on Premise and Online Portal/Collaboration: SharePoint on Premise and Online, Microsoft Teams Scripting: PowerShell, Power Automate
