A Brief Overview The candidate will develop and/or apply cutting-edge analytic methods to pediatric research, under the mentorship of Dr. Yimei Li and other Biostatistics faculty members at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and The University of Pennsylvania (Penn).

This candidate will work closely with Dr. Yimei Li and a group of clinical investigators, focusing on pediatric oncology and survivorship outcomes research. These include basic/translational studies, interventional clinical trials, observational studies using administrative data bases and/or electronic health records, and survivorship studies to understand the long-term effects of childhood cancer and to improve the lives of survivors.

The candidate will provide support to all aspects related to statistics in these studies, including but not limited to, preparing preliminary data and power calculation for grant proposals, conducting data cleaning and manipulation, performing data analysis, and participating in writing/publishing manuscripts. The candidate will have the opportunity to develop novel statistical methods and drive novel applications of new methods to design and analysis of pediatric studies, particularly survivorship and outcomes studies. Dr. Li is the Director of Biostatistical Core for The Center for Childhood Cancer Research (CCCR) at CHOP and will provide supervision and mentorship to the candidate. Dr. Li's methodological research focuses on clinical trial design, survival analysis, longitudinal data analysis, and statistical methods for health services research.

The expectation for this role is a hybrid schedule. Workspace is provided at our Colket Translational Research Building when onsite.

The Research Statistician I independently applies logic to set up cohort based on data plan provided. Manages and manipulates data; performs statistical programming using statistical software; learns and applies new statistical theory and techniques for ongoing projects or proposals; conducts statistical analyses; and supports the preparation of manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals. The analyst works closely with senior statisticians in developing analytic plans and applying new and existing statistical methods.

Education Qualifications Master's Degree biostatistics, statistics, clinical epidemiology, health services research, economics or a related field Required

Experience Qualifications At least one (1) year Relevant experience. Required At least three (3) years Experience in base SAS, SAS/SQL, SAS/STAT, SAS/GRAPH and SAS MACROS Required Skills and Abilities Statistical expertise in programming of common statistical methods in medical and clinical related research Familiar with database utilization in statistical analysis, like MS Access, FileMaker Pro, Oracle, MS SQL server Familiar with both UNIX system and Windows OS system High-level of personal initiative; ability to work independently as well as collaborate in teams and with people from all business areas Strong written and oral communication skills; must be able to communicate clearly Detail-oriented with excellent validation and documentation skills
