Join our Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) team and you’ll directly support and promote our brand and reputation. Through internal communications, public relations and corporate communications, you’ll provide a wide range of marketing and communications services to internal and external audiences. These include current and future clients, our current and future employees, alumni, regulators, the media and the communities within which we operate.
The opportunity
You will be responsible for supporting the director in developing and executing public relations initiatives to support business strategies and promote EY’s image in the market with firm events, sponsorships and news through national publications and media relations. You’ll serve as the first point of contact for media inquiries, assist firm leadership, service lines, industries, Americas Talent Team (ATT) and area teams by building media relationships, thought leadership and delivering strategic messaging to the marketplace. This will involve a combination of proactive media outreach and deadline-driven, reactive media relations that requires constant collaboration with firm leadership and region and global communication teams.
Your key responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for collaborating with EY senior leadership to understand business objectives and establish public relations programs that promote the firm’s brand and capabilities. You’ll develop and execute public relations plans, including media relations initiatives for coverage of EY’s public sponsorships and events. You’ll promote EY through media briefings, news releases, conferences, roundtables and articles to gain positive exposure leading to business opportunities. You’ll also be responsible for contributing to EY’s national thought leadership development and executive visibility.
Skills and attributes for success
Adept at developing and fostering relationships with journalists (television, radio, magazine and newspaper) to facilitate the promotion of the firm through these venues to gain positive exposure leading to business
Ability to coordinate national public relations strategies with regional public relations efforts to leverage the promotion of the firm across multiple venues
Ability to assist leadership in providing crisis management support, conduct media outreach and manage relationships with US, trade and regional media
Adept at overseeing press collateral development along with retaining and managing outside PR agency support
To qualify for the role, you must have
10-plus years of public relations/communications-related experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with a MA preferred
Demonstrated success in building internal and external relationships at a senior level with a proven track record of success in public relations
Understanding of the complexities of dealing with the media — identifying opportunities without creating risks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including presentations) as well as listening, interpretation and influencing skills
Excellent project management skills, team building and interpersonal communication skills
Ideally, you’ll also have
Ability to drive the content and initiatives behind strategic touch points and relationship-building efforts
Possesses deep knowledge in public relations and communications plans
Ability to analyze appropriate communications channels to build awareness of the firm’s key messages
Adept at working on client-related projects

What we offer
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $96,300 to $180,100. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $115,600 to $204,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
