DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform various tasks in the repair and maintenance of the buildings, grounds, machinery, and equipment of the veteran's home. Your duties will include plumbing and general carpentry work to repair or install items such as, door frames, windows, walls and ceilings, piping, plumbing fixtures in lavatories, and related equipment. You can also expect to repair heating coils, water and heating lines, and electrical lighting fixtures. In this position, you will use and maintain various power tools to complete repair tasks and grounds keeping duties.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with 30-minute lunch. You will have rotating on and off duty days, including weekends. This may change based on operational needs. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities. Special Requirement: This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirements: You must be willing and able to work in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

You must be able to perform essential job functions. Preferred Qualifications (not required): Experience in commercial maintenance of buildings and equipment Experience in commercial carpentry, electrical, plumbing Experience with 3-phase wiring to include emergency generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, switch gears and 3-phase panels Experience in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration and/or HVAC systems Experience with domestic hot water mixing valves, recirculating loops, aqua stats and instantaneous water heaters Experience with provisions of Life Safety Codes and Uniform Construction Code (UCC) as it relates to repairs of buildings Structural experience in the maintenance or repair of buildings
