Salary/Grade:$19.75 per hour; 75 NE

Responsibilities

Description of Position:The House Manager is responsible for upholding the safety and welfare of shelter residents. A House Manager supervises Resident Advisers and oversees the shift and can be scheduled at Red Shield or ESH. The House Manager answers the telephones, sends messages for staff and residents, greets visitors, and assists residents with their needs and concerns. A House Manager is on call on the weekend to address call outs on a 3-week rotation. A House Manager also ensures that only authorized persons are admitted to the facility and makes regular rounds of the building to ensure an orderly and safe environment.

Qualifications

Requirements: High School Diploma or GED, prior residential or customer service work experience, must be able to read, write and speak well in English, must have computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel Programs and be proficient in and the ability to utilize the internet. CPR and Crisis Management Training, a plus. Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks prior to employment: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 along with renewals every five years. Must have an understanding of, and appreciation for, the Mission of The Salvation Army and the Sanctuary Model.
