Brown and Caldwell has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated entry-level Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineer to join our team. We offer a collaborative, multi-discipline, and hybrid work environment to develop innovative designs for new water/wastewater related facilities, expansions, upgrades and retrofits. This role will support process automation control systems design efforts for facilities primarily serving the water and wastewater industries. Our ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, be highly organized, and be capable of working in a diverse team environment and handling multiple tasks with competing priorities. You will be working with technical staff and executing the following: Roles and Responsibilities: Provide design support and drafting for I&C and electrical disciplines, in a multi-discipline environment under the direction of experienced Professional Engineers and drafters. Support conceptual through detailed design development, schematics, network diagrams, Process and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs), specification and selection of equipment; development of contract drawings, bid package preparation, field investigations and support during construction, both in office and in field. Perform contractor construction submittal reviews and request for information documents and general electrical design activities for plant and pump station control systems. Producing effective and accurate written documents, reports, and technical memorandums. Support business opportunities and assist in sales and marketing efforts (proposal preparation, interviewing, scope, fee, etc.). Collaborate with a national team of technical experts in the I&C and Electrical group. Required Qualifications: BS in Electrical Engineering. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel and PowerPoint. Proficiency with AutoCAD, and AutoCAD Plant 3D or OpenPlant Modeler Effective oral and written communication. Able to multi-task, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and work independently with a willingness to learn. Candidate should be a self-starter, results-oriented and be able to work under tight and pressured deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with fundamental technical topics, including Control Systems, Communications, Computer hardware organization, and Embedded systems Familiarity with Modbus, Fieldbus and networking Familiarity with electrical safety systems, NFPA 70E. EIT qualifications or intent to pursue EIT standing. Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
