This Data Privacy Director has enterprise-wide responsibility for, among other things, developing and maintaining effective policies and procedures, and training programs, regarding privacy and information protection. This is a global role in which the successful candidate will partner effectively with business leadership and other internal professionals, including those in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Audit, Legal, and Human Resources, to identify, assess pragmatically, and mitigate privacy and information security risks. This position requires a customer-focused mindset and an understanding of the perspectives of key stakeholders, including members of the Company's executive leadership, FMC's customers and clients; and regulators and enforcement agencies around the world.

The position is a hands-on results driven role that is responsible for driving and maintaining a sustainable, pragmatic global privacy program. The role will look to improve processes by leveraging automation, data analytics and continuous improvement to support the success of the data privacy strategy.

Key Responsibilities Leads the Data Privacy Office which includes directing and interacting with various corporate, regional and project contacts to address questions or implement privacy related activities. Leads annual risk assessment activities to effectively prioritize key geographies and key activities each year. Activities are agreed upon with the Data Privacy Advisory Council for approval. Actively supports the governance dimension of FMC's Enterprise Compliance Program; prepares incisive and sophisticated reports for General Counsel, the Privacy Steering Committee and other members of the Operating Committee and the Audit Committee; Manages FMC's ongoing compliance with the GDPR and European and other national data protection laws. Leads a team that develops, maintains, and, as warranted, periodically updates relevant policies and procedures Collaborates with Human Resources to ensure that FMC's policies and procedures are enforced consistently; Develops and implements an effective global training and education program; Collaborates with Information Security and Internal Audit to ensure alignment between security and privacy compliance programs including policies, practices, and investigations. Keeps updated on the evolving privacy regulatory landscape and (a) recognizes the potential impact on FMC; and (b) understands the impact on the team's current operations, processes and tools and ensure projects and tasks are initiated to reflect or leap-frog the changing landscape. Liaises with the Data Protection Offi er for Germany and any other countries, as needed, to ensure compliance with relevant laws. Periodically reviews the privacy program in light of legislative and regulatory developments; maintains data privacy governance manual. Ensures that the Data Privacy team is seen as an essential business partner and enabler by FMC senior leaders and stakeholders/clients through supporting FMC's communications & sales support functions. Provides business with insight on trends in Privacy. Viewed as the operational leader of privacy by peers, regional legal counsel, regional IT. Works closely with colleagues in the FMC Law Dept to address reports of compliance concerns regarding privacy and information security matters. Responsible for continuous improvement to the privacy program by formalizing the Data Privacy Incident Response Plan. Collaborates with Internal Audit in the execution of applicable internal audits and reviews. Ensures DP budgeting and forecasting of out of pocket spend meets FMC financial targets, working closely with General Counsel. Leads significant ad-hoc projects including streamlining existing processes such as the automation of the PIA process, and data mapping activities using OneTrust Privacy Management Software. Directs the enhancement of the employee facing data privacy SharePoint site to make it more user friendly and attractive to FMC worker population and including relevant privacy materials. Communicates timely with stakeholders during status update meetings on project status, needs/gaps, risks, opportunities and metrics. Collaborates with external consultants and partners with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Sales, Finance, Legal and IT to optimize privacy activities. Leads the Data Privacy Awareness Campaign to increase awareness of data privacy among FMC global workers, in a creative, easy to learn method. Prepares communications from the data privacy office about key activities.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree. 5+ years of compliance and/or privacy experience in positions of increasing responsibility. Demonstrated ability to manage effectively complex and significant privacy and information security incidents and matters. Experience interacting with state regulators, federal regulators, clients and customers with respect to information incidents, audits or other privacy or information protection related inquiries. Demonstrated ability to lead a team in a fast paced environment. Highly collaborative individual with ability to influence others and build strong professional relationships. Experience working for global, center led organization Outstanding verbal and written communications skills. Intellectual flexibility - adept at reassessing priorities to ensure that internal and external expectations are fulfilled. Strong ability to navigate through barriers to drive successful initiatives throughout the business. Prior experience using MS Office products (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Visio) Strong planning and project management skills and the ability to apply these skills in effective working partnerships across organizational lines . Professional qualifications/certifications relating to data protection and/or information security (CIPM, CIPP/E, CIPP/A, security certifications) preferred or willingness to complete. Experience implementing data protection measures and/or frameworks. Experience with risk management standards and frameworks. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and balance priorities effectively. Demonstrated ability to gain required knowledge in dynamic environments and to work independently without direction.
