Responsibilities
The Director of the Cardiovascular Lab is a Registered Nurse, or, Registered Technologist who has 24-hour responsibility and provides first line supervision in the Cardiovascular Lab procedure areas. In collaboration with the Chief Nursing Officer, manages the clinical program from a staffing, PI and HR perspective. Supervises clinical and clerical staff to ensure the safe, cost effective and efficient flow of department/unit/clinic activities. Has the ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment, volume, and acuity. Ensures compliance with all regulatory and hospital policies and procedures. The Director evaluates the activities of the Cardiovascular Laboratory employees to ensure training, competency, and quality patient care. Develops goals, policies, and procedures. Participates in performance improvement activities.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse, or Registered Technologist (ARRT).2. Current BLS & ACLS Certification.3. A minimum of five (5) years supervisory/management experience required.4. Experience in a cardiac catheterization lab required.5. Basic computer knowledge.6. Proficient in interpreting EKGs and hemodynamic pressure tracings.7. Operates Cardiovascular Laboratory equipment, pressure injectors, hemodynamic monitor, cardiac output computer, etc.
