Family Practice & Counseling Network Direct Support Professional Genesis in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 2259933 Description The Direct Support Professional is responsible for safety and supervision of our consumers with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities, Behavioral Health histories to facilitate healthy and socially acceptable behaviors while living in community-based living arrangements. This position will coordinate with clinical staff, implement residentially based interventions and assist the clients in achieving their clinical assignments. The DSP is responsible for fulfilling the obligations as outlined in the client's program plan. The DSP will prompt or assist, as necessary, to ensure the clients participate in the activities of daily living, in both the home and the community. A commitment to the RHD values should be demonstrated as job duties are performed. Provide supervision of individuals in accordance with their Person-Centered Support Plan Complete all required documentation Administer Medication as needed Provide transportation to consumers Support consumers in activities of daily living such as meal prep, toileting, personal hygiene, as appropriate Assist in Community Integration Activities and access to community Supports including medical appointments, social security access, etc. Complete all other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Program Leadership PA IDD of RHD will provide a Hiring Bonus $500.00 for Full-time and $250.00 for part-time employees hired for these positions. For Direct Support Professionals successfully completing New Hire Orientation, a hiring bonus will be processed for the employee by the Program's Unit Director. Full-time DSPs will receive $250.00 gross and Part-time employees hired for these positions will receive $125.00. Following the initial 90 days of successful and continuous employment as a PA IDD Direct Support Professional the balance of the bonus will be processed by the Program's Unit Director. Full-time DSPs will receive the $250.00 gross and Part-time employees hired for these positions will receive $125.00 gross. Requirements High School diploma or GED is required, associates or bachelor's degree is preferred Basic computer and internet literacy with the ability to utilize applications like emails, time recording and other programs to enter and retrieve data as necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. Prior experience in the human services field, preferred. Valid driver's license Subject to employment screenings, including FBI clearance. if applicable Medium Lifting: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects Ability to stand, sit, walk, use hands, climb (stairs/ladders), talk, hear, see, push, pull, use repetitive motion, reaching, kneel stoop, crouch and/or crawl

If the position being applied to reports out of Philadelphia PA: RHD employees working in programs within the City of Philadelphia are required to provide proof of Covid vaccination. If not fully vaccinated, they must receive at least one shot in a two -dose series or a single dose in a one-dose series before beginning in-person shifts. Final doses must be received within 8 weeks of hire. RHD's vaccine requirements for the Corporate Office located at 4700 Wissahickon Avenue; Suite 126, Building A. Philadelphia, PA: The Corporate Office is not a service location.  Therefore, RHD has determined that vaccinations are not required to work out of or to visit the office. As a reminder and as stated in prior communication, vaccinations are required for those who visit or work in Philadelphia programs and/or service locations.
