Description

Robert Half is looking for an ambitious Controller to join a well-respected services company. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Philadelphia region.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP

  • Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of all financial and accounting activities

  • Prepare internal and external financial reports for regulatory bodies, board members, and other stakeholders

  • Coordinate the annual budget process and conduct regular budget reviews

  • Forecast financial trends and recommend corrective actions when necessary

  • Manage the annual audit process and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements

  • Implement and maintain internal controls to protect the organization's assets

    Requirements

The ideal Controller candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education. MBA or CPA strongly recommended.

Other requirements for the Controller position include and are not limited to:

  • 5+ years of accounting experience.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and non-profit accounting principles.

  • Financial Management/Budget & Forecasting experience required

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Highly detail oriented.

  • Ability to work cross functionally to achieve desired results.
