General Job Description: This is intermediate level work in the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of automotive mechanical or auto body equipment. Employees in the Body Repair specialty perform auto body repair work. Employees in the Mechanical Repair specialty mechanical and hydraulic systems of trucks, automobiles and other vehicles and equipment. Assignments are stable in nature and are carried out in accordance with standard trade practices and general work instructions.
The Requirements are as follows:
OPTION 1: 1. EDUCATION: Education equivalent to completion of the equivalent of the twelfth school grade
AND
2. LICENSE FOR THE MECHANICAL REPAIR SPECIALTY ONLY:
Possession of a PA State Inspection's License. AND
3. EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience learning the automotive mechanic trade as a helper or apprentice.
OR
OPTION 2:
1. EDUCATION: Education equivalent to completion of a post high school trade program diploma.
AND
*2. EXPERIENCE: *One year of experience learning the automotive body repair trade as a helper or apprentice.
OR
OPTION 3: 1. EDUCATION: Completion of an associate's degree program in Automotive Technology or closely related field from an accredited technical institute, college or university.
