U.S. Mint Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic Leader in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Summary This position is located at US Mint,Philadelphia Mint-MANUFA DEPT/Plant Mgr PA/OFFICE OF ADMIN PA/Facilities Maint Div/UTILITIES SEC. As a Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic Leader, you will be responsible for performing work leader duties in conjunction with Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic (ACEM) in the Facilities Section for the Philadelphia Mint. Responsibilities As an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic Leader, you must have: Journeyman level knowledge of advanced principles and theories of air conditioning, refrigeration, heating and ventilation, heat transfer laws, refrigerant tables, air flow calculations, and pressure temperature characteristics for different systems Knowledge of installing valves, heating and cooling dampers, motors in complex integrated systems using industry standard practices including brazing Ability to repair and troubleshoot a variety of compressors (i.e., gear, reciprocating, centrifugal, screw, rotary pump), and refrigerant and heating controls (i.e., low- and high-pressure side- floats, automatic thermostatic expansion valves, capillary) Knowledge and use of the Building Automation Systems (BAS), and computer skills using basic software to manage multiple complex projects and track work hours on spreadsheets for ACEM apprentices Knowledge of industry standard calibration equipment used to identify, repair, modify, and calibrate complex commercial and industrial systems for manufacturing and support operations. Requirements Conditions of Employment All employees must wear face masks while on MINT property when required by CDC and Federal guidelines. A one-year probationary period may be required. A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required. Must successfully complete a background investigation.
