Weyerhaeuser Leadership Development Professional-Philadelphia in Philadelphia, Mississippi
The Leadership Development Professional role is an entry level leadership developmental position. Working under close guidance with assigned mentors, you will be accountable for growing and strengthening your leadership skills and general business understanding of the manufacturing processes and operations of a Wood Products mill, and other major function areas, through a detailed 12-month development plan including hands-on learning, operational rotations, and successful completion of process improvement projects.
This is a full time, non-exempt position and will report to the Mill Manager. Relocation benefits are available for this and subsequent positions.
This role is a part of the Wood Products business, working in the Southern Lumber Region at the Philadelphia Lumber Mill located in Philadelphia, MS. The Philadelphia mill is a random-length sawmill producing lumber used in residential construction. Philadelphia is located in East Central Mississippi and is approximately 1 1/2 hours Northeast of Jackson, MS and 1 hour south of Starkville, MS. If you enjoy close proximity to outdoor recreational activities and southern hospitality, the Philadelphia area offers excellent options in recreation, college sports, and relaxation.
The successful individual will be assigned to the next role once development is successfully completed and a suitable assignment is identified that meets business needs.
Key Functions
- Develop safety leadership skills
- Complete a structured 12-month rotation through all operational areas of the mill
- Projects and assignments to promote active learning and contribute to mill’s successful performance
- Exposure to metrics, reliability and process improvement projects
- Broad exposure to Timberlands, Raw Materials, Sales and Finance
Develop Front Line Leader skills
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Business, Engineering, Forestry or related discipline*OR*on track to receive a Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Forestry or related discipline by the Summer of 2024
- Willingness to adapt to strong safety culture and ensure safe and efficient execution of work
- Ability to exercise good judgment in setting priorities and follow-through in a fast-paced results-oriented environment
- Strong desire to learn manufacturing processes, develop leadership capabilities and possess desire to progress within the organization
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other Windows-based programs
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills

- Willingness to relocate for position opportunities and/or cross-business development What We Offer:
Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $56,600 to $84,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications, and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees can enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.
Paid Time Off or Vacation:We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with paid vacation for up to 3 weeks to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 hours along with paid parental leave for all full-time employees
