DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

The Skilled Technician - Level II supports manufacturing operations by performing skilled activities, selecting and utilizing appropriate tools, machinery, and specialized equipment. Working with limited guidance, this role emphasizes adherence to safety protocols, craftsmanship, and quality, while contributing to preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, continuous improvement activities, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in working with robotics, automation, and industrial equipment is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE):

  • Immediately stop work and report any hazards or potential injuries.

  • Ensure compliance with all HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Actively participate in safety training and promote a culture of safety within the team.

  • Use personal protective equipment as required and identify ways to reduce environmental impacts of work.

Quality:

  • Apply high standards of workmanship, using tools, diagrams, manuals, and testing instruments to complete tasks effectively.

  • Support uptime and downtime failure analysis to minimize production interruptions.

  • Provide feedback for improving preventive maintenance processes.

  • Perform quality inspections and ensure all work adheres to quality procedures and process documentation.

Delivery:

  • Perform skilled technical activities such as equipment repairs, preventive, emergency, corrective, and predictive maintenance.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment and ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained appropriately.

  • Collaborate with peers and support staff to reduce manufacturing constraints, solve technical problems, and improve processes.

  • Actively participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams to improve safety, process efficiency, material flow, and employee development.

Teamwork & Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with team members and support teams to ensure smooth operations.

  • Engage in continuous personal and technical development to align with business needs.

  • Contribute to cross-functional team efforts, participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional technical certifications or training is a plus.May require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

  • Licenses/Certifications: Certifications in robotics, industrial safety, or automation are highly desirable.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience with ABB/Yasakawa Robots or equivalent systems.

Demonstrated proficiency in robotic systems, including troubleshooting and performing maintenance on breakdowns.

Experience working in a manufacturing environment, with intermediate-level knowledge obtained through education, training, or hands-on experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge/Skills:

Technical Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with SIEMENS TIA Portal and Servo Drive systems, including handling and troubleshooting.

  • Strong understanding of LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) for safety compliance.

  • Knowledge of machine safety protocols and related safety practices.

  • Proficient in ABB Robots , Robot Studio , and Yasakawa Robots , with experience in robot teaching, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

  • Familiarity with automation integration, including conveyor systems, vision systems, and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) .

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement:

  • Perform Why-Why analysis and employ other problem-solving techniques to resolve issues.

  • Apply cost-saving measures in routine tasks and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
