Generac Power Systems Sales Operations Director - Contract Management in Pewaukee, Wisconsin

We are seeking a highly strategic, analytical, and process-driven Director, Contract Management, to join our Sales Operations team for Generac’s Consumer Power business unit. This role is pivotal in ensuring the organization is set up for success as it relates to contractual agreements with our largest customers.

The Director of Contract Management will oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts with large retailers, ensuring alignment with Generac’s operating needs and strategic goals. This role will be client-facing and will collaborate closely with Sales leadership, legal, operations teams, and executive stakeholders to establish ideal operating terms and then negotiate directly with our customer partners. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in contract administration, operational excellence, and leadership within a complex, multi-channel sales environment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with large customer organizations across Consumer Power and Clean Energy business units

  • Ensure proper contract fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements and customer specifications by collaborating cross-functionally across the organization

  • Establish new operational processes and departmental RACI between Contracts team, Compliance team and Sales team

  • Act as a liaison between sales and our customers to negotiate contractual terms and conditions

  • Operationalize a continuous process to check in with operational teams to ensure contracts remain up to date with internal needs

  • Advocate on behalf of Generac needs and standards of operations

  • Partner with compliance teams regularly to understand compliance concerns and how contract adjustments can ensure less compliance violations and fines

  • Lead contract management improvements and initiatives including investigating and implementing automated solutions, such as CLM

  • Compare contractual obligations across the organization to identify common areas while driving operational improvements in collaboration with sales channel VPs and other senior leaders

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field.

Work Experience

  • At least 8 years of experience in contract administration, sales operations, or a similar role within a large, complex organization.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills

  • Knowledge of contract law and compliance

  • Strong project management skills to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

  • Strong analytical skills and systems proficiency

  • Direct leadership experience capable of motivating a high performing team

  • Education

  • MBA or other relevant graduate degree or certification

  • Work Experience

  • Experience using Salesforce CRM

  • Experience implementing and leveraging a CLM software

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Experience in a manufacturing organization

  • Experience negotiating contractual terms and conditions and pricing with large retail organizations
