Nuclear Fuel Services Quality Technician (6-month contract) in Peterborough, Ontario

We are currently recruiting for a Quality Technician (6-month contract) at our Peterborough, Ontario location.

Qualifications:
Community College Diploma as a Quality Technician or Technologist or similar Post-Secondary education; and/or equivalent work experience
Minimum 5 years' experience working in a Quality Assurance role
Experience in applying and interpreting ISO 9001:2015 and/or CSA N299.1-16 or similar quality management standards
Demonstrated abilities in Quality System Training and Auditing (accreditation an asset)
Ability to interpret and understand product / manufacturing drawings including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
Solid understanding of Statistical Process Control and data analysis / trending
Familiarity with various measuring and testing equipment / systems and associated Measurement System Analysis
Experience in utilizing problem solving techniques (green / black belt certification an asset)
Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Access and Minitab
Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross functionally and with Customer Representatives
Must pass medical to qualify as an Nuclear Energy Worker, Beryllium Worker and visual acuity requirements associated with a position in Quality Assurance
Valid Class 'G' Driver's License
Desired:
Certified Quality Technician / Technologist, Certified Quality Auditor
Strong Mechanical aptitude
Non-Destructive Testing Experience
Metrology/Metallurgical background
Duties:
Ensure MLR’s and MRB’s are properly documented and closed in a timely manner
Utilize database systems, MS Office applications and SPC programs to record and retrieve production information
Review and update Inspection Procedures, Qualification requirements and other documents as required
Interpret procedures, specifications, drawings and prior MLR’s to disposition non-conforming product
Interface with Customer Representatives on product disposition, documentation requirements and production issues
Communicate QA directives, including product disposition, to Shop Operations, Engineering and Quality groups
Work cross functionally with other departments to solve product / process issues
Analyze and report out on information from SPC data and data accumulated as part of travelers and/or investigations
Review and approve travelers for adherence to procedures, specifications, revision levels, etc.
Perform audits of Quality Systems, Manufacturing Processes and Operator / Inspector qualifications
Assist in the training of equipment operators and inspectors
Demonstrate the attributes and characteristics of nuclear safety professionals
You will be required to demonstrate the following competencies:
Previous experience of delivering training
Ability to work under minimal supervision and/or as a member of a team
Ability to make decisions within prescribed boundaries of Job function
Ability to work shifts and weekends as required

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $83,164.38- $102,550.24 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
