BWX Technologies, Inc. Quality Surveyor - Level 1 (1-Year Contract) in Peterborough, Ontario

We are recruiting for a Quality Surveyor - Level 1 (1-Year Contract) for our facility in Peterborough, Ontario.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Audit and qualify potential suppliers.

  • Perform supplier surveillance including witness hold points.

  • Determine receiving inspection requirements.

  • Interpret drawings, technical documents, procedures, ASME & CSA N285.0, etc.

  • Review and accept procedures, records, inspection and test plans, and test results for conformance to quality plan and ASME section III.

  • Interact with Engineering to determine appropriate disposition of non-conformances, concession applications and corrective actions.

  • Interface with TSSA for material release, non-conformance reviews, etc.

KEY CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Strong technical background.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, understandable by a diverse audience.

  • Experience applying and interpreting ASME NCA 3800 and 4000, NQA-1, CSA N285, N286, Z299, ISO 9001.

  • Ability to work effectively within a team.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Experience with CANDU technology would be an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College diploma or university degree in engineering or science.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in engineering design and/or quality.

  • Basic knowledge of non-destructive examination reports (RT, UT LP, MP, etc.), dimensional inspection techniques and weld inspection.

  • Inspection and testing QA planning or equivalent Product/Process/Equipment qualification experience.

  • Experience interpreting drawings and technical documents.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications.

  • Lead Auditor experience.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $65,000 and $102,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
