Nuclear Fuel Services Commercial Cleaner (Full-time 12 Month Contract) in Peterborough, Ontario

Commercial Cleaner - 12-month Contract

We are currently seeking a cleaner responsible for the cleanliness of our buildings at our BWXT Peterborough, ON facility. This position is responsible for all cleaning duties in our office areas, lunch rooms, change rooms, wash rooms and other general areas. The ideal candidate has a great work ethic, can work independently, experience with cleaning equipment and supplies, and takes pride in a job well done.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clean work areas including dusting, disinfecting, sweeping/vacuuming and mopping of all hard floor surfaces, carpets, machines, furniture, kitchen appliances, tables and desks.

  • Clean office floors as required using a floor-wash machine.

  • Dispose garbage and recycling regularly.

  • Clean all company washrooms including sinks, toilets and countertops and ensure appropriate supplies are stocked.

  • Sanitize kitchens which includes table and counter tops and fridge and microwave handles.

  • Administration:

  • Follow all company policies and health and safety procedures.

  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times when required

  • Maintains an acceptable level of performance by following established policies and procedures and participate in continuous improvement efforts by supporting and implementing new ideas.

  • Sets a positive example by maintaining a respectful attitude, cooperating with co-workers, management, and internal and external customers.

  • Be a productive team member and help meet established departmental and Company goals.

  • Report to work for your regularly scheduled shifts on time and ready to work.

  • Effectively give and receive feedback and willingly ask questions and seek direction when needed.

  • Willingly accepts responsibility of sharing skills and knowledge with other employees.

  • Perform all other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 2+ years’ experience cleaning in an office environment.

  • Hard working with good work ethics and attention to detail.

  • Self-motivated, reliable, punctual and responsible.

  • Ability to work independently as well as with others to complete tasks.

  • Driver's license or reliable transportation to and from the work location.

  • Experience with a variety of cleaning supplies and cleaning equipment.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Relevant work experience in a warehouse/shop floor environment.

    The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $39,000 and $56,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
