Veralto Engineer / Test Technician in Peterborough, United Kingdom

Great opportunity for an Engineer to join a leading UK technology manufacturing company that offers excellent training, support, and career development.

This will suit an Engineer or Senior Technician with 3-4 years ‘hands-on’ experience, who will enjoy working in a small specialist team (electrical & mechanical engineering), with ownership for setting up, running, and interpreting the results of a broad variety of hardware product validation projects.

The Opportunity

Linx Printing Technologies designs and manufactures innovative industrial printing and laser coding equipment used to mark batch info and consumption dates on packaging within food & beverage, pharmaceutical and related sectors.

Based 3-4 days a week at the Linx HQ in PE27 5JL, the Test Engineer will be part of a small, newly created ‘Value Analysis & Value Engineering’ team looking to drive product cost reduction without sacrificing performance and quality. The team of three include this test-focused engineering role, an electrical engineer and mechanical engineer.

The specialist VAVE team will set up and run a variety of technical validation projects for existing and new products and the jobholder is responsible for setting up, running and evaluating all the verification aspects of experiments in a safe environment. This includes developing test plans/scripts, setting up test jigs, analysing data, and writing up reports.

This is a challenging and stimulating engineering role working across a variety of different physical materials, electrical/mechanical components, software, high voltages, pressures, and flammable liquids.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Engineering/technical-related qualification (electrical or mechanical etc) and at least 3-4 years of ‘hands-on’ engineering in multi-disciplinary teams

  • Specific prior experience making test jigs and running the validation aspects of engineering projects is advantageous but not critical

  • Able to adapt, build and validate industrial components and prototypes

  • Appreciation of software, electronics, and mechanical engineering is very useful, including sophisticated system integration requiring analytical skills, problem-solving, and ability to read mechanical drawings

  • Living (or willing to relocate) within a comfortable commuting distance of PE27 5JL
