Job Title: Senior Tax Analyst

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (depending on experience)

Location : Peterborough - Hybrid Work Patter

The Opportunity;

Exciting opportunity to join an established team, supporting Global Tax compliance and planning initiatives involving UK domestic and international tax. The role provides support through assisting in preparing working papers, schedules and calculations to support tax returns and management decision making and performing research studies.

Responsible for supporting Tax regulatory compliance and reporting requirements, helping to drive process improvements and efficiencies through the Tax lifecycle. You will support the required compliance filings including maintaining proper documentation to sustain calculations. Supporting returns and other output reporting on a timely and accurate basis across the tax calendar and lifecycle. Acting as a partner to provide process improvement projects and providing data and technology and expertise across Global Tax.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and analysing complex tax compliance, audit, and/or provision computations.

  • Working closely with internal and external business partners to ensure appropriate information is gathered, analysed, and proficiently conveys information to tax managers on tax implications.

  • Leading or supporting projects related to process improvements, implementation of controls, or global tax initiatives.

  • Researching and analysing tax regulations to document tax positions, optimize enterprise tax impact, and model tax impacts of proposed legislation with oversight by management.

  • Analysing and developing responses to support tax authority inquiries with oversight by management.

What You Have:

Tax Management: Knowledge of tax laws, organizational tax practices, obligations; ability to manage organization tax related issues.

Level Working Knowledge:

Aspects include:

• Collects and prepares documentation for tax filing or tax defence activities.

• Interprets and explains all locally relevant tax laws.

• Provides corporate tax advice to the business.

Tax Regulations: Knowledge of local tax procedures and regulations.

Level Working Knowledge:

Tax Automation: Tax Process Improvement and ability to use technology.

Level Working Knowledge:

Aspects include:

• Works with large data sets to perform basic data analytics and trend analysis.

• Ability to identify and define process improvement opportunities in technical tax areas, including compliance, to facilitate streamlining and automation for efficiency.

• Assists in automation of processes and tasks using tools such as Excel, Alteryx and PowerBI.

Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

Level Extensive Experience:

Aspects include:

• Processes large quantities of detailed information with high levels of accuracy.

• Implements a variety of cross-checking approaches and mechanisms.

Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Level Working Knowledge:

Aspects include:

• Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives.

• Examines a specific problem and understands the perspective of each involved stakeholder.

• Helps to analyse risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decision on resolution.
