Exciting Opportunity for a Project Manager.

We are searching for an experienced Project Manager to join our talented team based in Peterborough.

The main purpose of Project Management is to lead the customer relationship, project execution and delivery of the entire scope of supply, as a single focal point of contact from order intake to installation & commissioning, through to the end of the warranty period. The Project Manager will effectively plan, coordinate, and manage assigned projects to ensure the highest level of customer service & customer satisfaction whilst achieving world class performance for on time delivery, and exceeding the financial objectives of the business. Key deliverables are to deliver a quality product, on time, for a profit.

This is a permanent position working 37.5 hours per week. We offer hybrid working for this role which will allow you to enjoy the balance of home working and collaboration time with the team in our modern, friendly offices which include free onsite parking.

What Needs To Be Done?

  • Review and take technical and commercial lead for the project from the ‘order winning team’

  • Scope the project and define the project team, ensuring the best mix of talent is utilized

  • Create a project plan which defines all tasks, milestones, resources and constraints

  • Define risks, mitigation plan & opportunities to ensure successful project execution and improve margin

  • Effectively manage (& through negotiation improve) Peter Brotherhood Ltd’s commercial position through the life of the contract to maximize financial opportunity & reduce commercial risk

  • Ensure that Critical Control Points/checklists are established and requirements are met for each project

  • Liaise closely with the Quality function in the creation, approval and maintenance of quality plans

  • Work with the SCM team to procure and expedite best price/specification/delivery purchased items

  • Monitor & control all aspects of the project ensuring accurate and timely reporting to all stakeholders

  • Co-ordinate, expedite and hold accountable all business functions and suppliers to ensure activities are completed on time, and that all parties are working to achieve the maximum results

  • To report the “brutal facts”, ensuring clear & concise communication at all times, understood by all parties, and be a champion for project management excellence

  • Ensure effective communication with the client on progress, and drawings & documentation whilst capturing client approval and purchase order revisions for changes / additions

  • Advise the Finance department of amendments to order and when to invoice for progress payments to maintain a cash positive position on every project

  • Ensure effective handover & communication processes with Field Services Project Management for installation and commissioning to ensure client acceptance is achieved on time

  • Manage the Warranty period, ensuring that Warranty issues are dealt with professionally and that root causes are identified, and corrective & preventative measures agreed and actioned

  • Ensuring all company and client safety policies and procedures are followed and embraced to promote a safe working environment

What Do You Need To Bring?

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Experience and knowledge of project management tools, practices and methodology

  • Proven track record in successfully delivering high value, complex, long cycle projects

  • Excellent communicator with proven leadership skills and the ability to influence at all levels

  • Tenacious and demanding with the ability to hold key stakeholders & functions accountable

  • Ability to lead multiple projects within a global, cross-functional matrix organization

  • Excellent business & commercial acumen and customer negotiation skills

  • Experienced in interpreting & utilizing financial data to make decisions and deliver results

  • Knowledge of quality management systems & HSE practices and requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • Prince 2 / PM Institute certified preferred

  • Engineering background

  • Oil & Gas or power generation industry experience

  • Technical knowledge of Reciprocating Compressors, Steam Turbines & Gas Engines

  • Six Sigma/Lean experience
