Robert Half Accountant in Peru, Nebraska

Description We are seeking an Accountant for our team located in Peru, Nebraska. The Accountant will be vital in supporting our accounting department, focusing on various aspects of accounting functions. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities such as working with specialist accounting records, analyzing data and transactions, and preparing statements and reports.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the internal auditor of accounts payable and analyze expenditure transactions.

• Prepare monthly working papers of trustee accounts.

• Monitor and report the status of contingency maintenance, LB309, and revenue bond funds.

• Post monthly Internal Business Transfers and Trustee transfers.

• Participate in the posting, balancing, and reconciliation of the general ledger and subsidiary accounts.

• Reconcile Oracle(E1) and NeBIS(SAP) fund balances.

• Assist with the management/auditing of fixed asset inventory and surplus property.

• Serve as the reference for state and agency accounting policies and procedures.

• Create and disburse monthly internal charge invoices.

• Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements • Must hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience is required

• Proficient with accounting software including NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Demonstrated experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proven ability to perform Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with General Ledger management

• Experience in Journal Entries preparation

• Experience in managing Month End Close procedures

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
