Job Summary:

In this role, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project’s mechanical aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of mechanical components and processes. Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure the unique and complex requirements of a project’s mechanical aspects are met.

Major Responsibilities:

• Perform design of mechanical systems for materials handling including crushers, screens, conveyors, and pumps.

• Perform calculations and preliminary analysis leading to technical design recommendations.

• Preparation of material requisitions, specifications, and other procurement related documents

• Assist in the evaluation of suppliers and technical bid evaluations.

• Coordinate with mechanical designers to produce layouts for crushing plants, screening plants, conveyors, and pump stations.

• Experience in chute design methods, both continuum and discrete element modelling would be beneficial.

• Participates in the design, development and modification of mechanical components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)​

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• computer skills including competence in MS Office suite and other common software.

• flexibility and enthusiasm for individual and team tasks.

• analytical problem-solving capabilities

• demonstrated skills in oral and written communication
