Work with Data Scientists and Business Subject Matter Experts to define and deliver analytical solutions to impact key business metrics. This will require both directed and independent effort, learning, and creative problem solving. Expected Length of Internship: May - August 2024. As an internship company, we allow flexibility to enroll in classes while working as an intern, as long as it doesn't interfere with the essential functions of the position. Experience: Must currently be enrolled in BS or higher degree in a technical discipline with relevant work experience in a manufacturing and/or research environment with related statistical analysis, data mining and technical leadership skills. 1+ years of relevant work experience or internship in related statistical analysis, data mining and computer language programming skills. Education: Basic Statistics. Course work in Applied Statistics is preferred. First Solar encourages all interns to register their internship with their University. Required Skills/Competencies: Safety first mindset Skills in applying analytical tools to large data sets and communicating the results in a concise manner. Skills with MS Office, Excel, Word, and Power Point etc. Software Engineering Experience using PyTorch and/or Tensorflow Framework(s) Programming Languages (at least one is required): Python SAS JMP Scripting Language T-SQL Basic Internship Scope (Project): During your internship, you will be expected to create and document solutions requested by not only the Manufacturing Engineering Analytics Team, but also from others in the organization. Develop digital assets (models, analytics pipelines, services, reports) that support the business to achieve its goals. Labelling and training of computer vision models. Creating and Monitoring Analytical Solutions. Developing documented code and refining best practices. Other duties as assigned. Job description subject to change at any time.
