The Opportunity:
The Senior Accounting Manager – SOX Risk and Controls will be responsible for corporate SOX testing and related activities for business processes. This individual leads the SOX Risk and Controls Business Process Group. The role also includes Division Compliance Manager responsibilities for the Global Finance Services Division (GFSD). This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your work will be highly visible at all levels of the division and across the company.
What You Will Do:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Providing guidance on all SOX related topics to Caterpillar entities
Ownership of the Caterpillar Business Process Risk and Controls Matrix
SOX Scoping for all Caterpillar entities for Business Process Controls
Collaborate closely with the Caterpillar COE partner on SOX control testing
Effectively leading a diverse team of skilled professionals responsible for SOX at Caterpillar
Effectively communicating SOX results to accounting and finance VPs and SVPs
Drive improvements and efficiencies in SOX processes
Collaborate across a variety of groups at Caterpillar, including finance, accounting, legal, internal audit, commercial and business divisions
Division Compliance Manager responsibilities include partnering with IAAS on GFSD audits and other compliance related tasks
Partner across the enterprise to support key projects related to Global Finance strategy initiatives
Skills needed for success in role:
Education and Experience : Bachelor’s Degree within Accounting or related field or equivalent experience. Previous SOX, audit, or compliance experience is preferred.
Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting
Managing People: Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams, and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.
Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Judgment and Decision Making: Knowledge of the decision-making process; ability to carefully evaluate the impact of emerging business situations and choose the best path forward communicating actions and activities that maximize organizational performance.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $217,320.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
