Job Title: Equipment Technician
Job Description
As an Equipment Technician, you will drive various locations and assemble equipment for patients in residential care, hospitals, and other settings. Your responsibilities include assembling wheelchairs, walkers, respiratory equipment, and hospital beds.
Hard Skills
Ability to assemble medical equipment
Experience with small power tools, drills, electric screwdrivers, staple guns, and other small tools used for assembly
Ability to load/unload parts (medical equipment)
Ability to lift 50+ pounds
Experience taking orders/directions (blueprints-assembly)
Previous computerized practice management/billing system experience
Knowledge of industry-specific rules and regulations
Soft Skills
Ability to stay on task to meet delivery times and quotas
Ability to work both independently and in a team
Customer-facing skills for assembling customers' medical equipment
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of personnel administration and patient relation principles
Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies, and procedures
Job Type
This is a contract position
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Peoria, Illinois.
Work Environment
Can be at the warehouse, hospital, or retirement communities assembling medical equipment for patients. Hours are 8-5 pm, with on-call duties outside of those hours (5-8 pm). Travel up to 30-50 miles outside of Peoria using a company truck.
