Summary This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA-JP9311. Responsibilities Creates and disseminates daily command Report, required reports and notifications, operational messages, and information papers, as required and conducts daily Operations Center operations briefs. Identifies problems and determines accuracy and relevance of a broad range of technical information. Analyzes, tracks, and coordinates Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI), to include all events impacting Command, Component, operating, and tactical locations. Prepares and executes high quality oral and written notifications, reports, and presentations on significant issues and operational impacts for presentation to Flag and General-level officers and the Command-wide operational and NetOps communities. Incumbent recommends to the Ops Battle Captain suggested responses to events/crisis and makes analytical input on potential or emerging threats so the watch team can deliver information to the appropriate decision making level. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. Qualifying experience for the GG-11 is defined as: Experience in assisting with event response in Network Operations. To qualify at the GG-12, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. Qualifying experience for the GG-12 is defined as: Experience in assisting with event response in Network Operations; Experience with developing IT policy. To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. Qualifying experience for the GG-13 is defined as: Experience in directing and coordinating event response in Network Operations; Experience with developing IT policy; Experience with coordinated Network Operations network defense posture. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system. This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to an appointment in the competitive service. A three year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service. In accordance with DoD 8570.1-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, selectee must meet Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, selected must meet Information Assurance Certification standards. Selectee must have an approved waiver prior to placement in this position or achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of IA duties. Level 1 certification is required prior to be authorizing unsupervised privileged access. Shift work required.
