Description

  • Summary: This position is responsible for providing assistance to the engineers with preparation and coordination of cases. In addition, this position will also assist with calendar management, including scheduling and tracking case deadlines.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Case Management:

  • Serves as contact person for clients

  • Obtains case information from clients

  • Manages client file correspondence

  • Coordinates preparation of case files for inspections, meetings, reports, depositions and trials

  • Assist with protocol, affidavit, declaration, report, deposition and trial preparations

  • Supervises the Case Management Group:

  • Assigns work within the Case Management Group

  • Oversees work within the Case Management Group

  • Sets priorities within the Case Management Group

  • Oversees training of the Case Management Group

  • Document Management:

  • Coordinates and reviews documents sent and received

  • Organization of case file notebooks

  • Coordinates case file pre-deposition and post-deposition production

  • Coordinates protected document handling and destruction

  • Calendar Management:

  • Tracks case deadlines and communicates changes

  • Coordinates and schedules conference calls, inspections, depositions, reports, and trials

    Education/Experience:

    Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language Ability:

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common legal documents. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to compose, write, edit, and proofread a variety of internal and external general business correspondence and memoranda.

    Computer Skills:

    Knowledge of Internet search processes, database software, Hightail, Dropbox, and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

    Licenses:

    Must have a valid driver’s license with no restrictions.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    May directly supervise other employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Other Essential Skills and Abilities:

    Strong time management skills and ability to coordinate and prioritize projects and assignments with little supervision. Ability to work effectively in a deadline-oriented environment. Strong interpersonal and listening skills. Must be self-directed and detail-oriented in completing assigned projects and tasks.

    Physical Demands:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand. The employee occasionally is required to stand for extended periods of time and walk. The employee is occasionally required to kneel or stoop. The employee should be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a laboratory environment which includes photographic equipment, optical and electron microscopes, test equipment and other laboratory materials.
