ASM Global Maintenance Technician in Pensacola, Florida

Position: Engineering Technician Department: Operations Reports To: Sr. Engineering Manager FLSA Status: Full-Time Hourly, Non-Exempt GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an opening for an Engineering Technician at the Pensacola Bay Center. Under direct supervision of the Sr. Engineer, the Engineering Technician directs, performs daily activities involved in the successful preparation and execution of events at the facility including housekeeping, maintenance, landscaping, and additional facility management tasks. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on all Facility systems. Maintain and repair HVAC, plumbing, painting and other equipment and materials as necessary, including, but not limited to, design, purchase, and installation of systems. Maintain and repair all electrical and control systems. Maintain building structure, hardware, and various vehicles (i.e., Zamboni, fork trucks, etc.). Operate equipment including, but not limited to, forklift, hand tools, Zamboni ice re-surfacer and power tools. Fully understand technical operations of all equipment in the Facility. As scheduled, assist in efficient operation of the Facility during events and non-events. Support event set-up and tear down (i.e., basketball floor, stage, dasher boards, risers, chairs, etc.). Assist as scheduled, in the load-in, set-up and load-out of events, handling clients' contractual electric service needs. Develop and submit list of necessary repairs and improvements. Assist staff as needed in all areas of Operations, performing other tasks as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Demonstrate knowledge of building maintenance, including housekeeping techniques. Able to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays. Able to assess situations using decision-making authority. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED required. One (1) year of hands-on experience in facility maintenance; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in an arena or stadium maintenance environment preferred. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule to produce accurate results and meet deadlines. COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate skill in Windows, MS Office Outlook, and Word. Other software experience helpful. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Possess any licenses, certificates or training required by local, state, or national authorities for the operation of industry related equipment found at the facility is preferred. While performing the duty of this job, the employee is required to walk/stand extensively, kneel, climb to high walkways, balance, and maneuver to all areas of the facility. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or occasionally more with assistance. Work inside and outside the building is required, may have some exposure to adverse conditions. Must be able to hear and speak to use a two-way radio. Work flexible hours, including nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
