Description

To design and produce collateral that supports a unified employee communications and branding strategy that aligns with Navy Federal's strategic goals, encourages engagement and strengthens the organization's reputation as an employer of choice. Perform moderately complex/varied tasks with moderate latitude and impact.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute designs and visual branding for internal communication products and services including online, print, multimedia, presentation, display and other interactive collateral

  • Participate in strategic/conceptual development meetings with clients to determine project requirements, objectives and creative direction

  • Serve as creative resource and point of contact for management on design and branding standards, vendor selection and production methods and timelines

  • Present creative concepts to Lead Graphic Designer and Supervisor for communication campaigns

  • Create and implement designs for projects

  • Serve on teams and task groups for projects/initiatives within the business unit &/or across the organization

  • Monitor assigned projects to ensure that goals and objectives are completed according to schedule; collaborate with project teams to ensure all business needs are met

  • Incorporate and leverage best industry practices while maintaining alignment with Navy Federal goals and capabilities

  • May provide photographic support for internal events/activities

  • Support and take occasional direction from colleague(s) who lead design for large scale projects

  • Research online libraries for images to support design team projects

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience using design programs, creating print and online collateral for Employee Communication campaigns

  • Working knowledge of design principles design development standards, techniques and methodologies and ability to apply them

  • Working knowledge of design fundamentals such as color theory, typography and composition

  • Experience in interactive design, visual design and industry standards

  • Experience applying new programs and technologies to design and communication challenges

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Ability to compile, organize and present information clearly and concisely

  • Experience in working and participating in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects

  • Experience in working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, vendors

  • Experience in managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals

  • Desired - Experience with mainstream InDesign desktop publishing programs, and other Adobe Creative Suite programs including motion graphics and multimedia

  • Desired - Working knowledge of Navy Federal products, services, programs, policies and procedures

  • Effective skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions

  • Effective database and presentation software skills

  • Effective organizational, planning and time management skills

  • Associate degree in graphic design or a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience
