THE POSITION

The South Mountain Restoration Center is a long-term care nursing home facility situated in the beautiful mountains near Michaux State Forest. As a HVAC Refrigeration Maintenance Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the comfort and safety of our residents. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a premier long-term care skilled nursing home facility, we need your expertise in installing, operating, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems. You will play a critical role in safeguarding the well-being and comfort of our residents by regularly monitoring and ensuring optimal temperatures in all air-conditioned units and food storage units such as refrigerators, freezers, milk coolers, and walk-in boxes. To excel in this role, you must possess a diligent work ethic that empowers you to efficiently manage tasks independently, including the upkeep of HVAC and refrigeration equipment. Being an adept team player is also vital for establishing and maintaining effective communication channels with the supervisor. This position involves responsibilities such as proactively ordering replacement parts, skillfully executing necessary adjustments, and seeking guidance when confronted with complex situations. We seek a highly qualified candidate dedicated to upholding and exceeding our professional standards to ensure the safety and satisfaction of our residents.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment (37.5 hours a week)

  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work hours may change based on operational needs.

  • Overtime as operationally necessary

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration systems, units, and equipment;or

  • Completion of a three-year Vo-Tech training program in refrigeration, HVAC, or building automation and six months experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration systems, related digitally controlled equipment, or BA systems; or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration equipment.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of a current driver's license which is not under suspension.

  • You must obtain an EPA Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification from an approved provider within six months of employment.
