THE POSITION

District 12-0 of the Department of Transportation Engineering is currently on the lookout for a dedicated individual to take on the role of a full-time Highway Drafter on a permanent basis. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will support senior positions in creating and refining components for projects of varying complexity levels, ranging from minor to highly complex. You will be responsible for executing Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) work specifically related to highway projects, utilizing all necessary equipment to fulfill this duty.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. Telework schedule is determined by District and Statewide Policy. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Uniontown.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Engineering Technician; or

  • Two years of experience in a variety of drafting assignments, one of which shall have been in highway drafting, including six months CADD experience or training, and graduation from high school; or

  • One year of experience in highway drafting and detailing assignments including six months of CADD experience or training and an Associate's Degree in civil engineering, drafting, or design technology; or

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training
